Formerly, and still in a niche gaming context, LFG is an acronym for "Looking for Group.” It’s the shorthand in multiplayer online gaming to team up with others to play.
For example, in World of Warcraft a solo player can call out to the server “LFG” to receive invites to join teams to tackle group aspects of the online game.
Just remember, if it’s not about gaming, LFG probably means someone’s just really pumped.
