How to hide text messages on iPhone Follow
While there is not a way to hide text messages completely on an iPhone, there are steps you can take to increase privacy and decrease message visibility using built-in settings.
Consider disabling message previews. Just go to Settings, then Notifications, Messages, Show Previews, and then select Never. This will ensure any message content does not appear on the lock screen.
You can also mute specific conversations so that messages are not seen. Swipe left on a message thread in the Messages app and then tap Hide Alerts. This will silence notifications for that conversation without deleting it.
Restrict access to the Messages app from anyone you don’t want seeing your private conversions. Use Screen Time to limit or block access to the Messages app or secure your device with Face ID or Touch ID to prevent unauthorized access.
Using a secondary number app like Hushed also allows you to send and receive messages through a private number, keeping those texts separate from your main iMessage inbox.
